Team Composition:
Each Team will ideally consist of a mix of low and high handicapped players and will include a mix of military, government civilians, and industry contractors, thus the name IMAGE! There will be NO sponsored corporate or government teams.
Format and Scoring:
This is a modified scramble tournament. Each foursome selects a team captain and competes in a modified scramble format (team captain selects the best shot from the tee to the green). There will be first, second, third, and last place prizes for gross team scores. Additional rules will be briefed on tournament day.
“Mulligans”: A Mulligan is a “Do over”. If a player hits a bad shot, he/she can hit their shot again, if they have purchased a mulligan. Generally it’s best to use them for putts or short shots when no one in the foursome has hit a good shot. Since this tournament supports our scholarship programs, there are no limits on the purchase of mulligans. Mulligans cost $5 each or four for $20.
Handicap: This is the number of shots a player needs to subtract from his/her average score to equal a par round. For instance, if a player normally scores 90 and the par for a round is 72, that player’s handicap is 18 (90 – 72 = 18).
Access to Fort Carson:
Players without military I.D.s will have to go through gate 1 (the main gate) instead of gate 5 (the gate close to the Golf Course). Be aware, ALL vehicles that do not have a Department of Defense decal WILL BE searched.
Ensure you have a current driver’s license, a current vehicle registration form and proof of current vehicle insurance.

Inform the sentry at the gate you are participating in the 2008 IMAGE Golf Tournament. If access is approved, you will receive a Post Vehicle Pass good for that day only.
